BREAK THE SILENCE

VOICES FOR WISCONSIN'S FALLEN

Poetry

''HERE WE ARE'' - by Jerome Wiza of New York

For many years they protected our lands

Suited and booted, blood on their hands

Doing what's right for the good of all

To the enemies our lands would not fall

Some paid the cost with their life

Some had children, some had a wife

Travis Wichlacz who I consider friend

Gave his life for the country he'd defend

Always a place of lighthouse with your name

But with you gone it won't be the same

Thanks for the love and protection you gave

You in our hearts forever we will save

Michelle Witmer was one of the few

Who gave her life protecting you

On April ninth two-thousand and four

God once again had to open his door

An angel came home doing what she thought was right

So the United States citizens could sleep better at night

Ryan Cantafio and Amanda were husband and wife

They loved one another and showed it in life

but Ryan was taken up to the sky

And God only knows the reason why

Rest in Peace for no one can take your place

Watching from above with God's good grace

Brent Vroman played sports in high school

Became a Marine and joined the duel

But on one cold day he had to leave

Understandably no one wanted to believe

Once again God had a plan

An Angel was needed Brent was the man

Michael Mc Glotin wanted to avenge the attack

September eleventh possibly from Iraq

He became a soldier and followed his heart

On April seventeenth he had to depart

God took a great man under his wing

From heaven above bagpipes you hear sing

Derserving more than a flag and a star

Because of them - Here We Are.
