BREAK THE SILENCE

VOICES FOR WISCONSIN'S FALLEN

Theme & Purpose

FOR EVERYDAY WE ENJOY OUR FREEDOM OF CHOICES, LET US PAUSE A MOMENT TO THANK OUR SOLDIERS. EVERYDAY THEY PUT THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE AND SACRIFICE BEING AT HOME WITH THEIR FAMILIES, SO THAT WE MAY STAY FREE FROM TERRORISM. AND LET US NEVER FORGET THE ULTIMATE PRICE THAT MANY SOLDIERS HAVE PAID ALONG THE WAY.

BREAK THE SILENCE was created to provide a platform for family, friends, and citizens where we all can explore the idea that through the spoken or written word, our Sons and Daughters of Wisconsin's Fallen Soldiers will live on FOREVER. The HOPE is that; family and friends will share stories. Tributes to the soldiers life as a citizen, brother, sister, mother, father, cousin or friend. Insights to better understand what GREAT men and women we have protecting our rights, and why they are trying so hard to share these rights with those who have none. The Goal is; to have ones' minds eye See, Breathe, and Speak. To Break the Slience about; War, Freedom, Life, Death, Choices and what it means to be an American, a Wisconsin Soldier. To get others to believe they too can make a difference by Breaking the Silence in any way they can without excuses. These brave Wisconsin soldiers, men and women, and many more like them, have died to secure our rights such as Free Speech, so exercise your Freedom for these Great HEROES that have paid that bill.

The Original Concept: was to create a visual experience. A visual experiance that would have an internal effect, not only on the mind, but with the complete Body and Soul. This was to be accomplished in person, in front of 100 plus portraits. A face to face experience with the men and women in silence, WILL SPEAK TO YOU! What is said, is said internally as the Silence Breaks.

The orginal concept had accounted for every protrait to be similar, but Unique. Portraits to be hung at an average eye height (eye to eye, 5' 3'') mounted on printing plates, beveled, so as to give the effect of a third-dimension, All standing Tall in formation.

Each of the portraits of soldiers featured on B.T.S. - V.F.W.F. (Break The Silence - Voices for Wisconsin's Fallen) were accumulated in photo form and then turned into painted portraits. This whole project has been an e>olutional process, moving forward, forever changing. ALL pieces of art will either be donated as a complete collection to an institution willing to properly preserve the memory of Wisconsin Native Hero's, and if any of the pieces are seperated it will only be done to donate the piece to the family of the soldier. Either of these two options will only

be done after the war is over.
